Emerald City Con 06 May 2008

Stephanie and I will be at the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle this weekend, May 10th and 11th. If you plan to be in the greater or lesser Seattle area, please come on by and visit the Conjoined Comics booth.

We'll be shilling these quality Conjoined Comics titles: TO THE POWER AGAINST (Issues #1 & #2) and EMOGICIAN. As always, these titles are also available for purchase online. So dip into that economic stimulus rebate and support some excellent small press! When you buy Conjoined Comics, you buy for VICTORY!!!

And as a side note, I've been allowed a peek at Stephanie's preliminary pencils for our Conjoined Magnum Opus, "Manchu Park". They are fantastic. If I had to choose one word to sum up her grasp of this material: grace. There's a heck of a lot of research and heavy lifting involved in this almost stupidly suicidal blend of Jane Austen and martial arts, what with the panoply of costumes, weapons, settings, postures, etc., and she renders it all with such wit and smoothness. There was a page of kung-fu-ery in there that literally brought a tear to my eye. Made me realize just what kind of awesomeness lies ahead. "Manchu" officially exists! Yay!

Making 'To the Power Against' #2 03 May 2008

I really have no idea if this is of any interest but I took some pictures during the mad rush to have the second issue of 'To the Power Against' ready for Wonder Con. Have a look!

In other photo news...

As Carrie mentioned, I have begun work on 'Manchu Park' which will be documented here.

And finally, my meager offering of photos from Wonder Con is here.

New art to come this week. Promise.

Oh Manchu, New Issue, and Thank You 22 March 2008

Howdy!

Many of you (ok...Nick) have been wondering what's happening with our Jane Austen kung fu comic, Manchu Park. Well, wonder no longer! It's in the works. As we speak, Stephanie's nimble fingers are flying to and fro in the creation of fabulously high bustlines, pouty poets and swords so sharp they go *shinnnggg!*

Also coming down the pipe: To The Power Against Issue #3. Now, even more statistical analysis in every bite! Ohhh, and the cover art for this issue...I have but one awesome word for you: goggles. *pressing finger to lips*

Thanks so much to everyone who visited our booth at Wonder Con. It was so good to see/meet/share photos of my burrito with you guys. And thanks too for all the online orders that have been coming in for Issues #1 and #2. Keep 'em coming! Tell your friends! We won't rest until people on at least three continents accept Xi Chen as their overlord.

To The Power Against Issue #2! 20 February 2008

Yes, it's finally here!

Carrie and I will be selling these beauties (as long as the overnight shipping from the print place works out, fingers crossed) at Wonder Con this weekend.

We'll have a booth in Small Press, I believe it's #SP3 (floor plan is here).

Come for the comics, stay for the witty banter!

Conjoined Comics Welcomes You 04 September 2007

Congratulations, you've reached the official site for Conjoined Comics, made up of writer Carrie Smith and artist Stephanie Lantry.

We've finally gotten a basic site running and will be updating as we have new stuff. That's usually how these things work, anyway.

If you're new, our first book To The Power Against was released at Comic Con International back in July. Surprisingly, people bought it and even came back to say nice things to us. The short summary, according to Carrie, is this:

Catalina Jones is a mild-mannered probabilistic risk assessor for a car manufacturer. Her life is quite normal: her boyfriend is nice, her boss is a jerk, and her job is going nowhere. But suddenly, as the result of a tragic microwave burrito/graviton missile accident, Catalina gains ultimate power over the odds. This power is godlike and terrifyingly unpredictable; she can't turn it off, and she can't control it— yet.

If you missed us at Comic Con and would like to pick up a copy of the book, here are your options:

01. In the Los Angeles area, the book is available in stores at Meltdown Comics and House of Secrets.

02. If you have a PayPal account and are not afraid of the Internet, you can send $5.00 to our account use our handy purchase page and we'll ship a copy out to your doorstep.

03. If you prefer to meet us in person, you can always pick up a copy at whichever comic convention well be at next. In this case it's Wonder Con in February 2008.

If you've read the book or have any other questions for us, feel free to .
